President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared Monday, 7 December 2020 a public holiday to coincide with the general elections.
According to a statement from the Presidency on Wednesday, 2 December 2020, the decision “is to facilitate the conduct of the election in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic” as well as “help ensure strict observance of COVID-19 safety protocols on election day.”
