Accra Lions technical director Ibrahim Tanko has been appointed as the new coach for Ghana’s Black Meteors,Dailymailgh.com can confirm.
The Former Borussia Dortmund star has been given the Mandate to lead Ghana to the next Africa U23 championship and subsequently to secure an Olympic games qualification.
He was in charge of the team in 2019 in Egypt when the Black Meteors finished fourth and missed out on the 2020 Tokyo Olimpics Games.
Tanko recently guided Accra Lions FC to safety in the Ghana Premier League as the technical director of the club in their first season in the top-flight league.
He will lead the Ghana Olympic team again with the hopes of making it to the 2024 Olympics games.
