Ghana has announced 191 new COVID-19 infections shooting the number of active cases to 1, 330.
This also brings the number of confirmed cases to 56,421, according to an update on the Ghana Health Service’s website.
According to the data, 54, 753 patients have either recovered or discharged from health facilities.
Many have attributed the sharp rise of the cases to the Christmas festivities and the conduct of the country’s citizens in the heat of the 2020 polls.
This has also coincided with the reopening of schools after students spent more than 10 months at home due to the virus.
