Adam Mutawakilu named acting CEO of Ghana Water Limited

President John Mahama has appointed Adam Mutawakilu, a former Member of Parliament for Damongo under the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Water Limited (GWL).

 

The appointment is subject to the constitutionally required recommendation of the Governing Board of GWL, in consultation with the Public Services Commission, ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures.

 

Dr. Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President, announced the decision in a statement, confirming that Mr. Mutawakilu’s appointment would take effect on January 22, 2025.

 

The statement also included a congratulatory message from President Mahama to Mr. Mutawakilu, requesting a formal response to confirm his acceptance of the position within 14 days of receiving the appointment letter.

 

“Please accept the President’s best wishes,” the statement concluded.

 

This appointment signals confidence in Adam Mutawakilu’s capabilities to lead Ghana Water Limited in fulfilling its mandate of delivering efficient water services to the nation.
