Aduana Stars inflicted a painful 1-0 win on Asante Kotoko in Dormaa on Wednesday afternoon.

The defending league champions grabbed a 94th minute winner to beat the Kumasi-based club by a solitary goal.

Both teams started the game with 10 men in what is perceived to be due to a “superstitious beliefs” with a player from each club sitting out the first half of the match.

Yahaya Mohammed of Aduana Stars missed a golden opportunity to put the host ahead when he found himself one-on-one with the Kotoko goalkeeper.

The half ended goalless.

Aduana continued from where they left off in the first 45 minutes of the match but failed to convert the chances that came their way.

The Porcupine Warriors showed glimpses of class but could not maneuver their way past the stalwart defense of the home team.

Former Medeama diminitive winger, Samual Bioh went on a solo effort and got a lucky when his pass deflected off a Kotoko defender to set himself up perfectly to struck inside the goal area in last minute of the game to snatch the winner for the Dormaa lads.

The win becomes Aduana Stars first victory in four games after losing two away games and sharing the spoils at home with Accra Hearts of Oak in their last home match and will leapfrog their today’s opponent in the league log.

Kotoko on the other hand have suffered their first defeat since match day four lost at Tarkwa Akoon Park to Medeama SC.
