Black Meteors deputy coach Michael Osei maintains Kwesi Appiah has done well so far and needs the support of all Ghanaians as the Black Stars coach seeks to bring the African trophy home.

Osei stressed that Ghanaians do not respect Appiah and is about time they put an end to it and rally behind him to offer his best at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

“Kwesi Appiah hasn’t been bad. He knows a lot. He is a competent coach but the way we talk to him is not good. There will always be pressure on the team but he will overcome it,” Osei told New Mercury FM

“We talk and talk as if in football when you hit it will lead to a goal. You can criticise him but there are some journalists who have not played before but think that we should take their points and is not fine. Sometimes when you hear such comments you regret venturing into football,” he added.

Ghanaians will be hoping for a win this evening when the Black Stars battle the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the Ismailia Stadium in a 2019 AFCON round of 16 clash.
