LCB WorldWide Limited has touched base at the Kotoka International Airport with its WHO approved scanners and disinfection equipment for installation as Ghana reopens its airport for international travel.
As at today, August 31, 2020, LCB Limited was at the Airport to install its disinfection system which will disinfect exterior of vehicles, cargo, containers, conveyances, goods or postal parcels that enter and exit the airport.
Information gathered indicate that LCB WorldWide Limited has finally been granted access and place to install the disinfection systems including scanners which have the technology to check temperature of persons and at the same time disinfect them as they pass through the system.
LCB Worldwide Ghana, a Ghanaian Company signed a Service Agreement with MoH and GHS on June 23, 2017 to mandatorily disinfect the exteriors of vehicles, cargo, containers, conveyances, goods or postal parcels that enter and exit the ports of the ports.
Currently, the disinfection facilities are fully operational at both the Tema and Takoradi ports.
Meanwhile, the Disinfection Agreement also includes cargo and air passenger luggage at KIA at the emergence of the novel Coronavirus.
It has been established that as far back as, May 17, 2019, the Ministry of Health (MOH) wrote to the Ghana Airport Company (GACL) advising it to give clearance and create room for LCB to implement it’s services at KIA.
It came as a great joy to many people when they heard that the GACL led by its Managing Director, Mr. Yaw Kwakwa, had given clearance for LCB Worldwide Limited to disinfect KIA as per a Service Agreement the company has with the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service.
The company was thus at the Kotoka International Airport with their equipment but could not do the installation as at the time of publishing this report.
LCB Worldwide Limited was at the KIA with its staff and disinfection equipment, dressed in their PPE to disinfect the Airport and do the installation of the scanners but were left stranded without the chance to disinfect the airport and do the installation.
Meanwhile, upon arrival at the Airport as early as 7 O’clock am, workers of Zoomlion Ghana Limited were at the premises with their equipment to fumigate the airport.
It is no clear as to when the company, LCB Worldwide Limited would install the disinfection systems as the Airport opens.
