The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has officially ended its contracts with all caterers across the country, effective immediately.

In a notice issued on May 2, 2025, the GSFP Secretariat announced that no caterer currently under the programme should provide meals for the upcoming third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

“Contracts with all existing caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme have been terminated. Therefore, no caterer should cook for the third term,” the statement emphasized.

The Secretariat assured caterers that all outstanding payments for meals served in the second term would be paid soon.

“All unpaid arrears from the second term will be cleared in due time,” the statement noted.

According to the GSFP, this decision is part of an ongoing restructuring effort aimed at improving the programme. The Secretariat added that new recruitment procedures and guidelines for selecting caterers will be shared shortly.

This restructuring comes under the broader goal of enhancing the Ghana School Feeding Programme, which was established to encourage school attendance and improve learning by offering free meals to students in public basic schools.
