Black Stars coach Akonnor makes five changes as Ghana face Qatar in friendly

Black Stars Head Coach C.K Akonnor has made five changes to the) his squad for this evening’s friendly encounter against Asian champions Qatar.

One of the notable change is goalkeeper Razak Abalora who has been given the chance to start in post ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Youngster Benson Annan who plays in Slovakia will start at right back with Gideon Mensah keeping his place at left back whiles Alexander Djiku who was used as a a midfielder in the game against Mali, moves to central defence to partner Joseph Aidoo as Djiku replaces the injured Nicholas Opoku and and will partner with Aidoo at the heart of defence.


Real Mallorca star , Baba Iddrisu comes in to replace Bernard Mensah and will play alongside Arsenal newbie Thomas Teye-Partey to provide cover for the backline.

Winger, Samuel Owusu makes his way into the starting line up for tonight’s game. Owusu will play on the right-wing of Ghana’s attack in place of Eugene Ansah. While Tarique Fosu operates on the left wing with Captain Andre Ayew playing in the hole behind striker Jordan Ayew.

The Black Stars will be hoping to put in an improved performance tonight against Qatar. The game is part of Ghana’s build up to next months 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
