An Assembly meeting to pass a ‘no confidence vote’ against the Bosome Freho District Chief Executive, turned chaotic on Wednesday (July 13).

The Assemblymen are sharply divided over the current fate of Hon. Yaw Danso, after he was accused of stifling development in the area.

Supporters of the DCE reportedly stormed the ongoing meeting at the Assembly’s conference hall to communicate a court order to halt the process.

A video obtained by dailymailgh.com details how some of the Assemblymen who were not enthused about the situation engaged them in a heated exchange. Some properties were also destroyed in the process.

It took the intervention of the police to restore calm.

“Tell them I am dead” comment: I goofed, forgive me, says Bosome Freho DCE

Twenty-two assembly members in the Bosome Freho district are pushing for a no-confidence vote in the DCE, accusing him of instigating divisions and hoarding resources meant for assembly members.

When a journalist called for his reaction and silence over the allegation, Danso said: “Tell them I am dead,” sparking uproar among locals in the district.

The DCE has since apologised for what he termed a “sarcastic” comment.

In a statement, he said he presumed the conversation was off-the record because he is on such terms with the reporter.

Sarcastic comment

“The interview was not to malign or disrespect my honorable assembly members and by extension the good people of Besome Freho and Ghanaians at large,” said Danso.
