The chief and elders of Twifo Otuano Camp in the Twifo Atti District of the Central region have fined a 40-year-old man GhC7, 500 ($1200) for having an affair with his daughter-in-law on Thursday.
According to the chief of Twifo Otuano Camp, Nana Obenfo Gyampo II, not long ago, he had information that the culprit, Opanin Kwabena Andoh, has been having an affair with Jamila, 25, who happened to be the wife of his son, Stephen Andoh.
Opanin Andoh did not deny the claims when confronted, DailyMailGH.com can confirm. He admitted to having an affair with Jamila. Yaw Ponk, Jamila’s father, also, confirmed his daughter’s affair with Opanin Andoh. He said Jamila confided in him she was no longer interested in her marriage with Stephen Andoh.
“She said she’s been having an affair with her father-in-law, and the two of them were in a relationship long before she got married to Stephen Andoh,” Yaw added.
Nana Obenfo Gyampo II and his elders reached a guilty verdict. They ruled that Opanin Andoh has not only desecrated Twifo Otuano Camp, but disgraced Jamila’s family, so he should pay GhC 1,000 and schnapps for the palace to cleanse the town, while he compensates the family of Jamila with GhC 15,000.
But remorseful Andoh, pleaded for clemency, and he was made to pay GhC 7,500 instead to Jamila’s family. The palace looks forward to receiving the GhC 1,000 and the schnapps on Monday to commence the cleansing of the town.
