A late strike from Patrick Arthur was enough to give Ghana a 1-0 win over the Central African Republic in a thrilling CAF U-20 Championship group-stage encounter in Egypt.
The first half saw both sides create several chances in a lively contest. Ghana looked slightly more dangerous, controlling the midfield and creating the better openings, but the breakthrough didn’t come in the opening 45 minutes.
After the break, Ghana continued to push for a goal while keeping things tight at the back. Their persistence finally paid off when Patrick Arthur netted late in the second half, sealing a well-earned three points.
This was Ghana’s second win of the tournament and ensures they top the group with 7 points. The Black Satellites now advance to the quarter-finals, joining Senegal in the knockout round.
