Catania join race for Ghana defender Donkor

Italian Serie B side Catania are interested in signing Ghanaian defender Isaac Donkor.

Donkor, 23, has been released by Romanian outfit Craiova this window and is eligible to join any team of his choice.

Dailymailgh.com understands that the Sicily-based club are in the market looking for a guardsman and the technical team upon a meeting on Sunday have set their sight on Donkor.

Catania however face a stiff challenge from Czech giants Slavia Praque who have also made him their number one target.

Last season, he played 34 games scoring one in the Romanian top flight.
