Danny Opoku Antwi, the Youth Organizer of the USA branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been recognized with a citation for his meritorious achievements and contributions to his community and the Ashanti Region.

The citation, presented to him at the just-ended Career Excellence Conference and Awards Night at the Great Hall on 28 February, acknowledged his remarkable efforts in mobilizing the party’s youth and supporting various initiatives that have strengthened the party’s presence both in Ghana and abroad.

Since assuming office on June 5, 2022, Opoku Antwi has spearheaded several impactful programs, including organizing a Youth Forum and Dinner Dance in New York, a soccer competition in Manhyia South, and a Palm Sunday party for orphans at the Kumasi Children’s Home. His leadership also facilitated the posting of 47 National Service personnel, the recruitment of security officers, and the successful processing of passports and visas for Ghanaians in the U.S.

During the 2024 elections, he played a key role in energizing the NPP’s youth base in Ghana, coordinating the distribution of 1,500 branded T-shirts, 850 aprons, sports equipment, and campaign materials for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo). His team also provided logistics such as 150 cartons of assorted drinks and water to Wa East Constituency and paid lorry fares for commuters as part of their grassroots engagement.

Opoku Antwi’s contributions extend beyond politics, as he has supported widows, donated a motorbike to the Ashanti Regional Youth Wing, and launched the first-ever TESCON branch in the USA at the University of Memphis. He also played a crucial role in the NPP-USA’s 30th anniversary celebrations in Washington, DC.

The citation solidifies Danny Opoku Antwi’s reputation as a dynamic and result-oriented youth leader committed to the NPP’s growth and the empowerment of young Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
