Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo has expressed his satisfaction following the Black Stars’ dominant 4-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in the third-place playoff of the 2025 Unity Cup.

The game, held at the GTech Community Stadium in London on Saturday, saw Ghana take full control from the start, putting three goals past the Caribbean side in the first half alone.

Speaking after the match, Coach Addo shared his thoughts:
“Overall, we got a lot of answers from this game. It’s always good to look ahead, and I think some of the young players made good use of their opportunities. They performed really well, and we’ll continue to monitor their progress at their clubs. For now, I’m very pleased.”

Ghana began the scoring early, with captain Jordan Ayew finding the net within the first 15 minutes. Defender Razak Simpson of Nations FC and Mohammed Fuseini, who plays for Union Saint Gilloise, both scored their first international goals, helping Ghana end the first half with a 3-0 lead.

Midfielder Lawrence Agyekum, who recently joined Cercle Brugge permanently, added the fourth goal in the second half after connecting with a smart assist from Gideon Mensah.

The win secured third place for Ghana after their 2-1 loss to Nigeria in the semi-finals. More importantly, the tournament served as a good test for the team as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September, where they will face Chad and Mali.

With several young players stepping up and impressing the technical team, the future looks promising for the Black Stars.
