Court grants Akuapem Poloo GH¢100,000 bail for ‘nude’ photos with 7-year-old son

Social media entertainer, Rosemond Alade Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo, who allegedly displayed her nude picture together with her son on social media, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.

Akuapem Poloo was charged with the publication of obscene material and two counts of engaging in domestic violence.

She pleaded not guilty.

Akuapem Poloo’s lawyer, Philip Kofi Beokoe, prayed the court to admit her to bail, arguing that she is a known figure in society and there are people of substance who would stand as sureties for her when granted bail.

The Court presided over by Mrs. Christiana Cann granted lawyer Kofi Beokoe’s wish by admitting Akuapem Poloo to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with four sureties; two to be justified with landed property worth GH¢100, 000.

The title deed of the property, the Court said, should be deposited at the court’s Registry pending the outcome of the matter.

According to the prosecutor Chief Inspector Agartha Asantewaa, the complainant is one Mr. Bright K. Appiah Director of Child Rights International Ghana.

The Court adjourned the case to November 23.

Background 

On June 30 this year, Akuapem Poloo celebrated her son’s seventh birthday. She took her nude pictures together with her son who was also half-naked and posted the same on her Instagram page which went viral on social media.

The pictures attracted consternation on social media.
