A patient who was diagnosed of the deadly Covid-19 disease in Ghana has tested negative after treatment.

The patient after a series of tests is deemed to have recovered from the deadly disease.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) said on its Covid-19 webpage that one other patient is in critical condition while 49 others are responding to treatment.

Though the GHS are yet to give full details about the identity of the recovered patient, it said that the patient will be discharged.

The new development outlines the current status of all 51 patients within Ghana who tested positive for the disease.

Three of them have already died as the Ghana Health Service said they were “aged and had underlying chronic medical conditions”.

Fourteen of them are being managed at home while the rest were receiving treatment on admission in isolation.

78 patients under mandatory quarantine

Meanwhile, 78 of the 1,030 people under mandatory quarantine have tested positive for COVID-19.

Ghana’s Covid-19 status currently stands at 132.

The country is next to Burkina Faso, its neighbour up north, as the highest number of cases recorded in West Africa.
