Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, the General Manager for External Communication at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has reassured customers that the company is fully committed to providing reliable and safe power, despite facing challenges with some of its equipment.

In an interview on Channel One Newsroom on Sunday, April 27, 2025, Mr. Ayiku Ayiku acknowledged that not all of ECG’s systems are currently performing at their peak. However, he emphasised that the company remains focused on ensuring consistent service delivery, even as some equipment struggles to meet optimal standards.

“As you are aware, ECG works with equipment, and some of them are not functioning as they ought to. But that is why we sometimes have to do periodic maintenance to get the systems working,” he explained.

He continued, “Indeed, we have some of our systems not operating in their optimal situation, but we would continue to supply reliable and safe power to our customers.”

Mr. Ayiku Ayiku’s remarks come at a time when concerns over power instability have been raised by many customers, particularly in Accra and other parts of the country, who have experienced disruptions in their power supply.
