Former president John Mahama has said it is his prayers that Allah protect Ghana from COVID-19 as Muslims celebrate Eid ul Fitr.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Mahama prayed for good health, urging Allah to “accept our prayers.”

“We thank Allah for seeing us through Ramadan successfully. May Allah accept our fasting. We ask Allah to forgive us our sins and we pray to Allah to see us through to the next Ramadan,” he said.

While advising Muslims to strictly adhere to health protocols to help stop the coronavirus from spreading, Mahama added: “We ask Allah to grant us good health. May Allah accept our prayers.”
