A five-month-old baby girl was tragically killed in Bawku after assailants forcibly took her from her mother and violently smashed her to the ground, leading to her death.
According to reports, the baby’s mother, who had gone out to trade, was tracked by the attackers, severely beaten, and had her child forcefully taken from her before the horrifying act was committed.
This latest killing adds to the escalating violence in Bawku and along the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway, pushing the death toll to 55 since the conflict flared up again in October 2024.
Despite continuous efforts by security forces to contain the violence and safeguard travelers, armed assailants continue to launch deadly attacks, intensifying fear among residents and commuters.
