Asante Kotoko extended their winning run with a closely contested 2-1 triumph over Dreams FC at the Tuba Astroturf in Krokrobite, Accra.

The Porcupine Warriors took charge late in the first half, netting two quick goals in a span of three minutes. Yahaya Baba broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with a simple finish after a well-timed cutback. Three minutes later, Saaka Dauda capitalized on a rebound to double Kotoko’s lead, giving them a comfortable edge before halftime.

Dreams FC came back stronger after the break, pushing to get back into the game. Their persistence paid off in the 58th minute when Joseph Esso scored to narrow the gap, setting up a tense final half-hour. Despite their best efforts, Dreams FC were unable to find an equalizer.

The game was evenly matched in terms of possession, with both teams controlling 50% and creating eight goal attempts each. Kotoko’s superior finishing proved decisive as they registered more shots on target.

This victory marks Kotoko’s third consecutive win, following successes against Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak, leaving them just three points off the league leaders. Dreams FC, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone as their struggles continue.

Kotoko will next take on GoldStars on Christmas Eve, while Dreams FC aim to recover when they host Berekum Chelsea.
