Hearts of Oak managed to stop their rivals Asante Kotoko in a tough 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The game was part of the Ghana Premier League and was full of energy, strong tackles, and missed chances.

Hearts of Oak came into the game as underdogs, having lost their last three matches to Kotoko. They were also under pressure due to a disappointing season. Kotoko started the match better and looked more dangerous early on. In just eight minutes, they had already tried twice from corners, but their headers were not accurate.

Hearts defender Kelvin Osei Asibey made a vital stop to deny Kotoko a clear chance, while goalkeeper Benjamin Asare made key saves to keep his team in the game. There was also a moment of controversy when Kotoko thought they deserved a penalty, but the referee waved play on.

As the first half went on, Hearts grew stronger. They almost scored from a corner in the 33rd minute and had a header cleared off the line. A key moment came in the 40th minute when Kotoko’s Wisdom Bassey appeared to be through on goal, but the referee gave a foul against him, leaving fans and players confused.

The first half ended without a goal, but Hearts looked more confident by the break.
