Former Ghana youth international Ibrahim Zubairu scored his first goal for FK Partizan Belgrade in a thrilling Serbian Super Liga match against OFK Beograd, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat on Sunday at the Stadion Omladinski.
Partizan took an early lead in the 15th minute when Aleksandar Filipovic found the back of the net. However, OFK Beograd quickly responded, with Ghanaian international Samuel Owusu equalizing just three minutes later.
Zubairu restored Partizan’s lead in the 40th minute with a composed finish, showcasing the attacking skills he honed at King Faisal Babes FC. Despite his impressive contribution, Partizan was unable to hold on to their advantage.
In the second half, OFK Beograd mounted a comeback, with goals from Aleksandar Palocevic and Filip Stojilkovic sealing a crucial victory for the visitors. The win moved OFK up to third place in the league standings, with 16 points from eight games.
Ghanaian duo Ebenezer Annan and Edmund Addo both played the full match for OFK, contributing to their team’s strong performance.
Zubairu, who transferred to Partizan from FK Jedinstvo Ub for €500,000 this summer, has now made four appearances in the Serbian Super Liga, with one goal and one assist to his name.
