Ghana’s Black Satellites land in tough group for U20 AFCON

Ghana’s U20 team, the Black Satellites, have been drawn into a challenging group for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast. They will compete in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and DR Congo, with an additional team set to join from the UNIFFAC 2 zone.

The tournament, scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 16, 2025, marks Ghana’s return to the competition since their title-winning campaign in 2021.

Full Group Stage Draw

  • Group A: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, DR Congo, UNIFFAC 2 representative
  • Group B: Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa
  • Group C: Senegal (defending champions), Zambia, Kenya, Sierra Leone

At the end of the competition, the top two teams from each group will secure a spot at the U20 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted later in Chile.
