Ghana defender Kennedy Boateng has been adjudged the second best player in the Upper Austria region at the 2019 Krone Sport Gala in Linz.

The former WAFA graduate came second after losing the top prize to LASK Linz captain Gernot Trauner.

The young Ghanaian defender polled 83,507 votes.

Kickerwahl Krone is an award for the best footballer in the Linz region for players in the top-flight and second-tier.

Boateng has scored a single goal in 11 outings for his side this season.

SV Reid are joint leaders of the 2.Liga with 35 points behind Austria Klagenfurt and could earn a place in next season’s Austrian top-flight should they end the season as winners of the second tier.
