Ghana’s parliament resumes sitting today

The fourth session of Ghana’s seventh Parliament will commence today, a statement from the House has announced.

The House will hold its first meeting at 10:00 am later today in Accra.

President Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver his address on the state of the nation ahead of the nine week proceedings.

Parliament’s Director of Public Affairs, Kate Addo said in a statement signed on January 27, that the house will consider twenty bills including the Affirmative Action, Rent Amendment, Community Water and Sanitation Agency Reform Amendment.

Seventeen of the bills, according to the statement, are currently at committee levels. They are the Legal Profession Amendment Bill, Office of the Special Prosecutor Amendment Bill among others.
