Another chief has been killed in the person of the Gyaasehene of Gomoa Akramang in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, Nana Egyir I, the police confirmed.

His passing on Monday comes less than a month when the Asantehene lost a sub-chief Nana Kwadwo Afodour, Asamponhene, mid-August in the hands of unknown assailants on the Ejura-Nkoranza Road.

According to state-owned Graphic Online, the Gomoa incident happened Monday morning at the “Tipper junction” in Akramang.

The Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Irene Oppong, said the Kasoa Divisional Command received a distress call from Gomoa Akramang indicating that Nana Egyir Ahor had been attacked by a mob of his own community at Akramang  after he allegedly shot and injured one of the youth in the Akramang town on Sunday evening.

She said the police proceeded to the scene only to find the body of Nana Ahor in a pool of blood in front of his house.
