‘Keep Black Stars technical team for the World Cup tournament in Qatar’ – Akufo-Addo tells Kurt Okraku

Ghanaian leader Akufo-Addo has asked the president of the Ghana Football Association to keep faith in the current Black Stars coaching staff for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

He said this after the Black Stars visited the president at the Flagstaff House on Wednesday afternoon after the game against Nigeria on Tuesday evening in Abuja.

According to the Ghana president, Ghana FA should maintain the four team technical handlers for at least the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year.

“I would advise you, Kurt Okraku and the Ghana FA to keep the technical team for at least Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar later this year”, the President said.

“Maintain this technical team till at least after the November – December FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar before we think about a substantive coach after Qatar 2022”, he added.

Ghana FA assembled four strong technical brains in the persons of, head coach Otto Addo, Chris Hughton, technical advisor, George Boateng and Mas’Ud Didi Dramani who were assistant coaches.

Ghana will know their opponents for the next FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar on Friday after the draw.
