Kotoko’s pressure forced us to play delay tactics – Etoile coach

Assistant coach of Etoile Sportive du Sahel, Imed Ben Younes, has said Asante Kotoko were tough opponents on Sunday in the CAF Champions League playoffs.

He said the Porcupine Warriors strategy forced his side to play a defensive game.

“Kotoko pressured us and made it very difficult for us to come from our area to attack them which left us with no option than to deploy the delay antics,” Younes stated.

“It was a very difficult game for us because you could see our players were tired in the last 15 minutes so we needed to adopt a strategy to help us ease the pressure on us.

“We’ve had a lot of problems in our two games in the competition this year and the team has not been at their best so far with the two away games and Kotoko kept attacking us making it hard for us to play well in the game,” he added.

The Ghanaian side won by 2-0 at their backyard at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
