Kunsu: 30-yr-old man shot dead, robbers bolt with ₵12k in fresh attack on gold firm

A 30-year-old man was shot dead when armed men raided a gold dealership firm at Kunsu, near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.

The police at the Ahafo Ano North Division gave his name as Akwasi Dagati. They have mounted a serious manhunt for the gunmen, according to locals familiar with the development.

The incident reportedly happened on Saturday (7 May, 2022) at about 20:20 hrs when the robbers, numbering about five, stormed the Adom Gold Agency and launched an attack on workers, who were serving their customers.

Wielding guns and cutlasses, the robbers, made away with three mobile phones and a bag load of cash and gold totaling ₵12,400.

The unidentified gang who were being pursued by the deceased shot at him, killing him instantly, according to police sources.

Items retrieved

Policemen who were deployed at the scene combed the area but the robbers could not be traced. Some exhibits including a bag containing 60 live AK 47 ammunitions, a BB live cartridge an unspecified amount of money and other personal effects.

The body of the deceased have since been deposited at the Plus Lab morgue at Mankranso, after crime scene management.
