Residents of Legon and Dansoman are calling on the Mahama administration to resume work on the stalled Agenda 111 hospital projects, which began under the Akufo-Addo government.

Their concerns follow President John Dramani Mahama’s first State of the Nation Address, where he noted that none of the Agenda 111 hospitals are operational. Reports suggest that about $1.7 billion is needed to complete the projects.

A visit by Channel One News to some project sites revealed little to no progress. At New Legon in the Adentan Municipality, construction materials such as sand and gravel were present, but work remains on hold due to an ongoing audit. The contractor was absent, and no progress has been made since the government transition. Similarly, in Dansoman, within the premises of Ebenezer Senior High School, construction has stalled, with the foundation still incomplete.

Residents expressed disappointment and urged the government to make the projects a priority. “It will be good if the government completes it for us,” said Aaron Oware Preko, a resident of Dansoman. Another resident, Francis Macleen, added, “We were excited about the project, but the NPP government couldn’t complete it. We appeal to the new President to ensure it is completed.”

With the 2025 budget set to be presented on March 11, many Ghanaians are eager to see if the government will allocate funds to revive the Agenda 111 projects.
