President John Dramani Mahama has directed all his appointees to officially declare their assets. He stated that the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, would oversee the process to ensure full compliance with this directive.
During the swearing-in ceremony for his ministers at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday, January 22, President Mahama addressed the appointees, saying, “I expect all of you to begin the process of declaring your assets. The Chief of Staff will announce the cutoff date by which time all eligible appointees should have submitted their asset declaration forms to the Auditor-General. I wish all of you good luck in your duties, and I pledge to work with you in the future.”
In his remarks to specific ministers, President Mahama outlined the expectations for their roles. Addressing the newly appointed Energy Minister, John Jinapor, he said, “To you, John Jinapor, Ghanaians are looking for a stable and efficient power supply.”
For Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the new Finance Minister, the President emphasized the critical tasks ahead, stating, “To you, Dr. Ato Forson, Ghanaians expect you to reduce inflation, make life more comfortable. They expect you to bring the national public debt to sustainable levels, they are looking to you to stabilize our currency and bring down inflation.”

Haruna Iddrisu: Minister for Education
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson: Minister for Finance
John Jinapor: Minister for Energy and Green Transition
Dr. Dominic Ayine: Attorney General and Minister for Justice
Governs Kwame Agbodza: Minister for Roads and Highways
Eric Opoku: Minister for Food and Agriculture
The ceremony marked the official start of their roles, with President Mahama stressing the high expectations placed upon them as they work to fulfill the nation’s needs.
