President John Dramani Mahama has addressed newly sworn-in Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, outlining the key expectations Ghanaians have for his tenure. The President emphasized that citizens are counting on him to stabilize the Cedi and reduce inflation.
In addition, President Mahama stressed that the public expects Dr. Forson to work towards bringing the national debt to a more manageable and sustainable level.
Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday, January 22, President Mahama remarked, “To you, Dr. Ato Forson, Ghanaians expect you to reduce inflation, improve the cost of living, and bring the national public debt to sustainable levels. They are looking to you to stabilize our currency and lower inflation.”
The six ministers who were sworn into office include:
Haruna Iddrisu: Minister for Education
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson: Minister for Finance
John Jinapor: Minister for Energy and Green Transition
Dr. Dominic Ayine: Attorney General and Minister for Justice
Governs Kwame Agbodza: Minister for Roads and Highways
Eric Opoku: Minister for Food and Agriculture
Each of these ministers is expected to address critical challenges in their respective sectors, contributing to the President’s broader vision for the country.
