Ghanaian midfield-gem Majeed Ashimeru scored his first ever goal in European Cup competition as RSC Anderlecht beat AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

His goal puts Anderlecht 2-0 up against AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League quarter-finals at home in Belgium.

The former West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate played full throttle for his team as they won 2-0 ahead of the second leg next week in the Netherlands.

The winner of the tie will either come up against English Premier League side West Ham United or Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League team KAA Gent in the semifinal.

The 25-year-old Ghana International has two goals, three assists in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League and a goal in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
