The 29-year-old deputy skipper for the Whites netted a 32nd minute goal from close range with his left foot following a corner kick.
Both sides started the game strongly creating a lot of openings in the early stages of the match.
The away side settled down well after the half hour mark and was put ahead by the Ghanaian captain 13 minutes to the break.
Sheffield Wednesday got on level terms nine minutes to full time through Fernando Martin Forestieri strike.
Morgan Fox scored a 90th minutes goal for the home side before Ben Wilmot’s 92nd minutes equalizer to secure a point for the away team.
It ended 2-2.
