A viral picture of a man openly defecating at the seat of Ghana’s government – the Jubilee House – has shocked Ghanaians on social media.
Africafeeds reports that the unidentified man was captured by a citizen hiding behind a reservoir around the Presidency in Ghana’s capital, Accra to poo poo.
A tweet accompanying the picture said: “Man just walked behind the ‘reservoir’ pulled a black rubber then proceeded to take a shit, right by the Flagstaff House.”

Ghana has over the years been dealing with the issue of open defecation.
Professor Chris Gordon, Director, Institute of Environment and Sanitation, University of Ghana, Legon, said open defecation cost Ghana $79 million per year, where as it would require less than one million latrines to eliminate the practice.
Prof. Gordon said 16 million Ghanaians used unsanitary or shared latrines while 4.8 million had no latrines at all and defecated in the open.
