Frank Asiedu Bekoe, was inaugurated as the 6th Member of Parliament in the 4th Republic for the Suhum

constituency on January 7, 2025, overwhelmingly defeating the sitting MP in a fiercely contested primaries

and ultimately retaining the seat for the New Patriotic Party.

The son of an Akwapim mother from Mamfe and an Akropong father, Frank Asiedu Bekoe grew up in

multiple underserved villages giving him a firsthand experience of the struggles and aspirations of

ordinary Ghanaians.

He was born on July 9, 1977, and lived in multiple communities in Ghana, From Burma Camp, Bedam in

the Achiase District to Adiembra in the Assin North Constituency, Suhum, and later Accra, his early

experiences instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility towards community development and human

empowerment.

His pursuit of academics was marked by zest and discipline. He attended Forces Primary Burma Camp,

Suhum New Town Basic, HECTA International School, Suhum Secondary Technical, and later Mampong

Technical Teachers College. Bekoe finished Mampong Technical College and subsequently enrolled at

University of Ghana, GIMPA and Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, where he earned

Diploma, BOPM and a Master of Science in Defense and International Politics respectively.

His entry into Public Service was not accidental or opportunistic. As a student at the Teacher Training

College, he actively supported his cousin’s parliamentary campaign in Suhum in 1996. This early exposure

together with his rural experience inspired a great of passion for governance and public service.

He loved public service. His professional journey saw him teaching and later working at the VAT Service.

However, his commitment to higher leadership and service caused his resignation from the public sector

to fully engage in active politics. In 2009 he contested for the Constituency Secretary for Ayawaso West

Wuogon and won. His rise through the ranks of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was steady but strategic,

working as the TESCON Organizer at the University of Ghana from 2004 to 2005 long before his role at

Ayawaso West Wuogon and subsequent rise to the Office Of The President from 2017 until his election as

Member of Parliament.

The road to the December 2024 parliamentary elections was not without controversy and challenges as he

sought to unseat the then sitting MP. The MP he defeated in the NPP 2024 primaries contested the

general elections as an independent candidate, setting the stage for a fiercely contested race.

Despite the huge challenge that caused the NPP to lose many seats in similar independent trends, Bekoe

remained steadfast in his campaign message: “Projects matter, but human beings also matter.”

Beyond politics, Bekoe is a man of faith – a devout Catholic with strong ties to the Seventh-Day Adventist

Church. He is a husband and father to three boys.

As he steps into his role as a Member of Parliament, Bekoe’s journey serves as an inspiration to many. His

story is one of perseverance and service to the community, prioritizing the welfare of the people above all

else. He credits his political success to his mentor from 2003 to date, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare,

Ghana’s first female Chief of Staff from 2017 to 2025, and former MP Ayawaso West Wuogon.
