The Head of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Dr Prince Hamid Armah, has won the Kwesimintim seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Prince Hamid polled 24,785 of the total votes cast while his closest contender Philip Buckman also polled 13,409 votes.
Meanwhile, popular actor John Dumelo lost to Lydia Alhassan in the race for the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat.
Ms Alhassan polled 39,851 while the award-winning actor polled 37,778.
Former deputy Communication Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu has lost the Abura Asebu Kwamankese parliamentary contest in the Central Region by some 176 votes.
He polled 24,872 votes while the NPP’s candidate garnered 25,048.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu who contested on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress congratulated his contender in a message on Facebook.
“It was so close yet so far for me. I lost by 176 votes. Congratulations Elvis Morris Donkor and better luck to me next time. I am also deeply grateful to all of you out there who supported my bid in diverse ways,” he wrote.
