Four people have been arrested after the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) intercepted a cargo shipment believed to contain cocaine at the Swiss Port on Wednesday, April 23.

According to NACOC, a total of seventy-three (73) slabs of a hidden substance suspected to be cocaine were discovered during the operation. The drugs, weighing about 89.74 kilograms, were allegedly being prepared for export to the Netherlands.

Officials say the operation was based on gathered intelligence and is part of efforts to stop international drug trafficking through Ghana’s ports.

“The interception was a result of intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing international drug trafficking through Ghana’s ports,” authorities stated.

The identities of the four arrested individuals have not yet been made public, but they are currently in the custody of NACOC while further investigations continue.
