The Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has revealed that the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) is waiting for the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, to approve the release of Assin South MP, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, for questioning.

This follows serious allegations made by the MP, claiming that two aircraft recently landed in Ghana with illegal drugs and large sums of money on board.

According to Kwakye Ofosu, Rev. Ntim Fordjour has not yet responded to calls from the security agencies to assist in the investigations. He stressed that cooperation from the MP is crucial for uncovering the truth behind these claims.

Speaking during an interview on Face to Face on Channel One TV, the Minister said, “The NIB wrote to the Speaker to release Ntim Fordjour. The Speaker is yet to respond to the NIB, as far as I am aware. Anytime the Speaker responds to it, he will be available for questions.”

Kwakye Ofosu also emphasized the need for openness in the process and called for the public release of the MP’s interrogation. “I have requested that the interrogation be released to the public,” he added.
