Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s Vice-Presidential candidate, has promised Ghanaians that an NPP government will ensure stable power supply and eliminate power outages, commonly known as “dumsor,” if elected in 2024.
Speaking at the launch of the NPP’s manifesto in Takoradi on August 18, Dr. Opoku Prempeh vowed that the new administration would tackle various issues affecting Ghanaians.
“We kukruudites will fight from room to room, house to house, community to community, village to village. Never again will we experience dumsor, petrol queues, or have education determined by one’s financial situation. The day of accountability is coming for those with skeletons in their cupboards,” he declared.
The former Energy Minister also praised President Akufo-Addo’s achievements in the education sector. “The most profound achievement in education under your leadership, Mr. President, is making what many said was impossible a reality. Despite doubts and challenges, including a five-month COVID-related closure, the first batch of Free SHS students passed all four core subjects with a 68% success rate in their WASSCE,” he noted.
