NPP Primaries: Adwoa Safo beats Oquaye by 8 votes, Buaben Asamoa wins

The national communications director of the New Patriotic Party Yaw Buaben Asamoa has won the parliamentary primaries in the Adentan constituency.

Asamoa, who is the incumbent MP, polled 422 votes to beat his closest contender Emmanuel Kwesi Mantey, who had 217. The other two contenders had less than 100 votes in the Saturday primaries.

In the Dome Kwabenya constituency also in the Greater Accra region, incumbent Sara Adwoa Safo beat her contender Mike Oquaye Jnr by an eight-vote margin.

The procurement minister polled 496 votes against Oquaye’s 488, who is Ghana’s High Commissioner to India.

In the Okaikoi South, Ahmed Arthur has lost the seat to Darkoa Newman.
