The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has responded to the Special Prosecutor’s corruption risk assessment on the Agyapa deal in a memo to the president.
He said: “Prior to initiating the Transaction, MoF ensured to undertake all the necessary pre-requisite action required by law, from the procurement of transaction advisors, to the submission of transaction documents to the AG and Parliament for their review, input and approval.”
The Special Prosecutor in his corruption risk assessment report to President Akufo-Addo said, “the process of the selection of the transaction advisor(s) disclosed a reasonable suspicion of bid-rigging and corruption activity including the potential for illicit financial flows and money laundering…”
