Missing KNUST lecturer's wife, Rhodaline Amoah Darko

A man said to have bought a mobile device belonging to missing Lands Commission staffer, Rhodaline Amoah-Darko has been arrested.

Justice Appiah and one Yaw Boateng were declared wanted by the police after his name came up following police investigations.

Representatives of the Attorney General had told the court that the Appiah bought the phone from Yaw Boateng who claimed, he found it in a commercial vehicle.

Justice Appiah has since been granted bail after his Lawyers prayed the court for his release on Tuesday, March 22.

His Lawyer William Asamoah Sarpong spoke to the media after proceedings.

“I applied for bail for my client and the court graciously agreed to my proposal. The court says we should come back on 5th April. It is only the third accused person (Justice Appiah) who was granted bail. For the first accused person (Dr. Wilberforce Aggrey) and the second (Yaw Boateng), the court refused them bail. The third accused person is involved in a lesser offense, so the court in its wisdom saw the need for him to be granted bail because he has been cooperating since its inception”, he told Citi FM

He however admonished the public to use his client’s case as a lesson whenever they are buying used items.

“He is being charged with misappropriate receiving, so it is a lesson to the public. When you are buying second-hand items, you have to be very careful. The court saw that it can happen to anybody”.

Rhodaline’s husband Dr. Wilberforce Aggrey was also denied bail again when his Lawyers pushed for his release. facing a High Court in Kumasi following her disappearance.

The KNUST lecturer has denied charges of kidnapping and deceit of a public officer.

The hearing continues on April 5.
