Former Accra Hearts of Oak SC head coach Kim Grant has urged Black Stars coach Otto Addo to take local based players to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

He stated that, players plying their trade in the domestic scene shouldn’t be overlooked as taking them to the World Cup in Qatar is a development on its own.

According to the ex-Black Stars player, the team needs hungry and determined players to pass through the ranks to help in building a formidable side inc the future.

Speaking to Accra-based Happy FM, Kim Tyron Grant said,
“Yes, they will bring quality to the national team, but also it’s about the local players as well.” Don’t neglect them. “You need hungry and determined players to grow and come through for the long-term future of the national teams and also the development of football itself.”

The Black Stars of Ghana, after representing the nation in 2006, 2010, 2014 and missing out on 2018, will have the opportunity to appear on the global stage in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana eliminated rivals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria to book a place in the next edition of the FIFA World Cup tournament later this year in Qatar.
