Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil scored twice for KRC Genk in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League Championship playoffs against RSC Anderlecht.

The Ghanaian forward scored a brace for the title chasing side in their 5-2 win over the UEFA Europa Conference League team on Sunday afternoon at home.

Tanzanian forward Mbwana Samatta scored the only goal of the match to break the deadlock after 36 minutes to put Genk in the lead but Islam Slimane from Algeria equalized for the away team on the 43rd minute.

Just before the half time whistle, Aziz Mohammed restored the home team’s advantage to make it 2-1 to Genk at halftime.

Four minutes into the second half of the match, Ghana’s Paintsil got his name on the score sheet and his first goal on the day to extend the home team’s lead to 3-1 after 49 minutes.

Paintsil turned provider four minutes later when he set up Bilal El Khannous to make it 4-1 but Anders Dreyer reduced the deficit to two four minutes after the hour mark.

Paintsil struck again to make the final score 5-2 for the league leaders when his left-footed shot from the center of the box found the center of the goal after he was set up by Mike Tresor.

The 25-year-old Ghana attacker has 14 goals, 12 assists in 29 league games this season in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.
