Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in a showdown with former president John Mahama, after the latter pronounced that “God is not so wicked to give us another four years of Nana Akufo-Addo.”
Dr. Bawumia posted the video of Mahama uttering those lines and captioned it: “God has already saved us from you.”
In what appears to be a repetition of the war of words between the two during the 2016 elections, the National Democratic Congress flagbearer is urging God to intercede ahead of the 2020 polls.
“…God come and save us, come and rescue us,” Mahama said in the undated video.
The 2020 election is a straight battle between Mahama and incumbent Akufo-Addo as the former seeks a comeback following a humiliating defeat four years ago. It will be the first time a former president is contesting a sitting leader in Ghana as Akufo-Addo eyes a second term in office.
