New Patriotic Party (NPP), MP for Atiwa East in the Eastern Region Abena Osei-Asare has been adjudged the Best Performing female MP for 2022.
The lawmaker topped the list of female parliamentarians after clocking 9th in the latest survey that assessed all 275 legislators in the eighth parliament.
The latest rating which was released a few days ago was conducted to assess the performance of the 275 Members of Parliament since their assumption of power.
Constituents formed the bedrock of evaluating the Members of Parliament. Consequently, all the respondents sampled for evaluating each Member of Parliament were voters in the constituency represented by the Member of Parliament in question.
The study used benchmarks based on tangible projects executed in their constituencies, performance on the floor of Parliament, and constituents’ expectations of the MP among others.
Commitment
The MP’s commitment to improving the lives of her constituents can be clearly seen through her initiatives.
“My office has initiated more projects and as I speak TVET education is in the offing. A contract has been awarded to construct a boys’ and girls’ dormitory for it to start. GETFund is also financing the construction of a six-unit classroom block and toilet facilities for Abekwase, Subriso and other communities”, the MP said as she touted most of her achievements during an interaction with her constituents on December 24.
“The good people of Atiwa East took me to parliament to push for their wellbeing and I remain committed to pushing this agenda”, the MP who is also the Deputy Minister of Finance told dailymailgh.com.
