Ghana’s Black Princesses, the women’s football team, emerged triumphant in the Women’s Football tournament at the 2023 Africa Games, securing the highly sought-after championship title in a thrilling and memorable showdown.

The captivating match unfolded at the prestigious Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday, March 21, 2024, where Ghana displayed remarkable resilience against their formidable opponents, Nigeria.

Despite Nigeria’s early lead, courtesy of Edeh Njideka’s goal in the 23rd minute, Ghana remained undaunted by the challenge.

Tracy Twum, a key player for Ghana, showcased her talent by scoring an equalizing goal in the 77th minute, thus leveling the score and prolonging the excitement as the game entered extra time following the regulation 90 minutes of play.

With the passionate support of the home crowd rallying behind them, Ghana surged ahead in extra time, taking firm control of the match with a decisive goal from Abdulai Mukarama.
