Masawudu Mubarick is seeking to unseat Muntaka Mubarak in Asawase

Followers of Mubarick Masawudu have confirmed that the failed 2020 NDC parliamentary aspirant is staging a comeback to unseat former Minority Chief Whip and Asawase MP Muntaka Mubarak.

The supporters who are mainly polling station executives in the constituency will be picking forms for the aspirant as the party opens nominations for the presidential and parliamentary primaries on Wednesday (February 22).

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday a representative of his campaign team Abubakar Ahmed Ibrahim said they are convinced Mr Masawudu is the best candidate for the Asawase Constituency as he touts his contributions to improving the lives of the people.

“We have contributed an amount of ¢5,000 to pick up nomination forms for Hon. Masawudu Mubarick…We came about this decision based on the enormous contribution towards building a formidable NDC in Asawase and the Ashanti Region. He has secured sustainable jobs for the youth through his empowerment programmes

We are convinced that when given the nod, Comrade Masawudu Mubarick will alleviate the struggles of the youth in our party, rendering them financially ineffective over the years. We know that Mubarick when elected parliamentary candidate and MP Asawase will witness the transformation she deserves”, Abubakar said.

In 2019 Masawudu Mubarick filed his nomination forms to contest Mr. Muntaka Mubarak. He was later disqualified by the party to allow the former Minority Chief Whip to run unopposed.

He accused some party executives of sabotage and schemed attempts to frustrate the electoral process.
